Abernethy Contracting is looking for a Pipe Foreman to join our team in the Charlotte area. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee crew performing site work.
- Read and understand project plans and specifications.
- Communicate construction needs --material, equipment, and staffing in a timely manner to Superintendent to prevent delays.
- Inspect work areas throughout construction process to ensure the quality and accuracy of work meets specifications and that crew meets productivity goals.
- Monitor and ensure that crew follows safety policies and procedures.
- Complete required reports (JHA, production, personnel time and attendance, vehicle, safety, inspection) on a daily basis.
- Oversee development and cross training of crew.
- Responsible for daily inspection of equipment and reporting of downed machinery to Superintendent.
- Recommend and implement measures to improve production methods and equipment performance to improve efficiency.

REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a utility/pipe foreman.
- Proficient in main dig excavator and mini excavator.
- Sense of urgency and ability to respond to changing situations is a must.
- Ability to adapt, prioritize and complete projects in a changing construction environment.
- Ability to read drawings, plans, and blueprints and convey this information to others is a must.
- Ability to shoot grade and calculate slope percentages.
- Ability to communicate problems with solutions regarding any utility work and any scope.
- Ability to use technology, including iPad.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Commitment to safe work practices.
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation are a must.
- Have the ability to travel within 60-75 miles of the greater Charlotte Metro Area.
- Must pass a pre-employment background screening.
